We are working to affiliate the dojo with the Midwest Aikido Federation (national organization), who will be our connection to the Aikikai Foundation in Japan (international organization), who confer rank.

Stephanie SpillEr

3rd DAN, DOJO cho

Stephanie began her aikido training in 2006 at the Aikido Center of Atlanta, where she taught Kids’ Class, and Morning Class for adults. Her teachers Darrell Tangman, 7th Dan Shihan (Augusta Aikido Club), and Edwin Stearns, 6th Dan Shidoin (Aikido Center of Atlanta) have given her a firm grounding in the princples of aikido. Stephanie’s aikido is also inspired by Shoji Seki, 8th Dan Shihan (Aikikai Hombu Dojo), and Mary Heiny, 7th Dan.

Stephanie believes in the value of daily practice, aikido basics, the interconnectedness of attacker and defender, and the interconnectedness of teacher and student.

Whoever teaches learns in the act of teaching, and whoever learns teaches in the act of learning.
